The value for money at this riad was excellent, with spacious and clean rooms. The location was perfect for shopping, accessing the port, and the beach. The staff were fantastic, friendly, and very helpful.
The breakfast could be improved with more variety and options.

Lovely building in a great location, with friendly staff and a relaxed feel. We opted to stay for a second night. The duplex rooms on the first floor are great fun. Terrific roof top terrace. The Jimi Hendrix connection is apparantly not proven, but my teenage boys were sold!
Showers a little/basic but they worked!

The staff were really friendly and it was very clean. The room was huge
our room was situated on the street side of the hotel so was quite noisy at night. This was not enough to promt a request to switch rooms though

Charm and Elegance: This old Essaouira house, built in 1871, retains all the charm and elegance of that period. It feels like stepping back in time to a world of splendor and beauty.
Language Barrier: The staff seemed to have difficulty communicating in English, despite listing the property as English speaking.

said that internet available in all the hotel, actually only on the ground floor and actually was not working for the 3 days we stayed in. Breakfast was fighting with the bees to get the marmelade

This is a great hotel in a wonderful location. Probably the best all round hotel we stayed in during a long tour of Morocco. Essaouira is absolutely outstanding.

This old Essaouira house, built in 1871, retains its charm and elegance. The restaurant serves both traditional Moroccan and International dishes. The hotel is a favorite place for international artists.
Ah, the delightful scents of the maze-like alleys and the noise from the birds and prayer calls really added to the experience!

The Essence of History
Entering this ancient Souiri house is like stepping into a time machine. With its 19th-century charm and elegance, it transports you back to a bygone era. The central courtyard with a fireplace becomes the heart of the riad, inviting stories to unfold just like the crackling flames. As you explore the maze of alleys, the bewitching scents of the Medina fill the air, enveloping you in the essence of history.

This authentic Riad is perfectly located in the centre of the medina and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are large and spacious and decorated in a traditional way and roof terrace is a nice quiet place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre.

Stayed in an individually decorated room with a clean bathroom. Fab location near La Kasbah. And near the bus station, the port, the beach, the souks, the ramparts, the restaurants and the market...

Great location near the beach and right in the heart of the market. It was convenient to be able to explore the area easily.
The room we stayed in was dirty and not well-maintained. The furniture was dusty and the bathroom had stains on the towels.

The helpful staff and lovely breakfast. Omellete made to order, different flavoured milk, fresh fruits and a variety of pastries and bread. The courtyard is beautiful and the rooftop terrace a pleasure.
The water did not drain properly in the shower so you end up having a shower in a pool of soapy water up till your ankles.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
